Two Days; Two Bands Call It Quits

That’s right, within the last two days, two bands have called it quits; hardcore/metal band Adestria, and metalcore band Texas In July. Here is what they had to say upon releasing the news…

Taken from their Facebook,

“Alright guys, update time. This was put off long enough.

I’ve always tried to be as honest and upfront with you as I can, and I’ll do my best to keep that up. As of now, there is no new music, and no new tours for us in the future. We did a lot of soul searching the past few months, and we amicably came to the conclusion that we’re taking an indefinite break.

In truth, it’s a bummer that we’re done. But that’s how this goes. Music changes, members change, and it’s hard living off $5 a day haha. Only a rare few bands can make a life out of music, and we were lucky enough (and very grateful) to do this as long as we did.

Thanks to all of you for the support, whether you downloaded a cd, let us crash on your floor, bought us a beer, etc. There may be other projects in the future that some of us take part in, but for now we are saying goodbye.”

Taken from their Facebook,

“To all of our European fans and friends, it breaks our hearts to say that this coming June will be our final appearance overseas in Europe. We are extremely excited to share these last moments with you all, since you have been such a huge part of the band. We began touring in Europe before Texas In July had ever even played a show in California or any other western states or North American territories. With that being said, it is safe to say that traveling to your countries have always been, and forever will be, one of the most memorable things for us all.

Thank you for giving us a home away from home all these years, it has been an absolute pleasure rocking with such a metal part of the world. We love you, see you in June for final Texas In July European tour. Let’s make it the best one we ever had.

Final US Tour details coming soon.

It does suck to see bands call it quit after so many years of being together and prevalent in the metal scene, but things do happen. I taken by surprise to see Texas In July calling it quits, since they just recruited a new vocalist a year or so ago, and released a new album back in September. Adestria also just released a new album too, so it’s odd to see them break up so soon after that. Shit happens, I suppose. Best of luck to both bands in their future endeavors.
