Review: The Agony Scene – Tormentor

The Agony Scene is back with a full album after years of silence and cliffhangers! The new album is called Tormentor and is worth the time we waited. It is heavy as always and catchy as always; expect no less from The Agony Scene. It has been years since TAS has released anything at all. They were silent for a while then made a post about a tour then nothing for a while again. They surprised us with a few singles from Tormentor before dropping the whole album and now here it is. Review: Pentarium – Zwischenwelt

Boy do I have a treat for you this week with the album Zwischenwelt. Zwischenwelt is from German “melodic death metal” band Pentarium. This album is very interesting, read about it below you won’t regret it too much. Or maybe you will, but you will at least get to check out a good band in the process. To give you a sense of what’s to come: it is less like melodic death metal and more like older metalcore.

Review: Red Raven Down – Phantoms EP

From Seinäjoki, Finland, Red Raven Down released their Phantoms EP on the 15th of December under Inverse Records. It is understood that their vocalist Jani Korpela had participated in a reality show called Voice of Finland, where he gained a lot of media attention after performing Slipknot’s “Psychosocial”. Well… Let’s hear if his band’s EP is any good.

2017: Most Notable and Memorable

There has been a lot of memorable and noteworthy albums I’ve reviewed this year – I kid you not, sometimes we get as many as five shoved in our faces each week. And while I do want to review every single one that comes my way, I’m really just one person taking the time to thoroughly hear and describe a release as fairly and honestly as I would expect my own band’s album to be. Now, to avoid being here all day, I’m going to list one album from each common genre that stood out for me personally. Everyone is welcome to agree or disagree.
