Review: Mirrors – Lifelike

Mirrors is a Metalcore band from Virginia. Since their formation in 2015, they have released two albums: The Art of Paradox and Lifelike. The band’s current line-up consists of: Davin Morta (vocals), Anthony Vu (guitar), Alfonso Ureña (bass), and Sebastian Trudeau (drums).

The vocals in this album are done well. I really like the highs. Not only can he perform high-quality screams, he can fit many words in a short amount of time. Check out some of his lower-screams in their song, The Light. The vocals in The Light caught my attention around 2:10 in based on the unusual power he exhibited. The clean vocals are really nice. I love the synched-vocals in the song Dr.

The drumming in this album is cool. I like the drum beat in the beginning of Menma. There’s some pretty fast moments. I also like the beat in the chorus. It fits well. The ending of Menma has an interesting drumming piece that you should check out. Dr. has some sick slow drumming in the outro.

The guitars are pretty interesting. They really caught my attention in the song Effervescence. There’s some cool lead guitar/soloing going on. The guitars in this album seem to be on more of a technical side. Check out a killer breakdown in Dr. (around 1:40). I enjoyed the rhythm guitars in the beginning of Patient Zero. There’s some crazy guitar work in the latter half of Patient Zero that I found interesting.

This is a pretty cool album. The guitars and vocals are my favorite aspects of this album. I would give this album a 7.3 out of 10. Check them out on social media sites. Favorite track: Effervescence.
