Review: Enabler – La Fin Absolue Du Monde

“The world is fucked and this is the soundtrack to it’s demise” – this quote from Enabler’s facebook page sums perfectly the general mood, present throughout the band’s discography. The trio is set to release a debut Century Media album this June (check out the excellent single “By Demons Denied” here), so before that I decided to review their album from May 2014 entitled “La Fin Absolue Du Monde” (“The World’s Absolute End”).

Most of the songs here are fast-paced doses of misery and pain; my description will suit them perfectly. “Close my eyes” – perfect start, full of doom/punk atmosphere. “New life” – sick opening riff, heavy drums; definitely a favourite, especially the riff work. “Neglect” is full of old-school thrash vibes, sick riffs and a sicker breakdown. “I’ve got a bad feeling about this” is also filled to the brim with despair driven riffs, fast-paced drums (definitely a favourite).

The list goes on. It’s physically painful for me to continue listening, so I’ll wrap it up: this is some brutal dark music not for the light-hearted. Proceed with caution! You can buy La Fin Absolue Du Monde on the band’s Bandcamp.
