Our interviewer, Kevin, caught up with Jake Straw from Robotface!

Kevin (PSAB): What are all the members names and their duties in the band?

Jake (RF): Jake Straw-Writer/vocalist/producer

   Mike Ripple-Rhythm Guitarist
   Steven Moors-Lead Guitarist/Sound Engineer
   Dan Haskins-Bassist

   Zakk Sample-Drummer

Kevin (PSAB): How did you guys come up with the name Robotface?

Jake (RF): The name represents the facade of technology taking our civilization and masking people from a normal culture. We came up with the name a couple years ago in the basement at Mike & Dans house off Tacoma St. on the east side of Indianapolis.

Kevin (PSAB): What are some of the main inspirations for your sound?

Jake (RF): Our sound comes from a combination of progressive djent style tones and the simplicity of older metalcore-esque song structures. Our influences range from bands like Exotype & Attila to Chelsea Grin & Whitechapel, yet maintaining a ‘party/triumphant ‘ feel to the music.

Kevin (PSAB): What if any would be the one person/band that you guys would love to collaborate with?

Jake (RF): That’s a tough question. Anyone in Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit to Eminem & yelawolf. There are too many bands in our genre with members who we would enjoy collaborating with, so the list would be infinite.

Kevin (PSAB): What are your guilty pleasures in music?

Jake (RF): Jake-Bowling for Soup

   Steven-Sum41
   Mike-Fall Out Boy
   Dan-Shinedown

   Zakk-John Legend

Kevin (PSAB): What would be the best show you have ever played and also the craziest thing to happen at one of your shows?

Jake (RF): The craziest show would have to be our 3rd show as the Face at the Emerson Theater with I See Stars. The place was packed wall to wall. The craziest thing to ever happen would be when an older member of the band broke his guitar and busted his face all during the same gig. Then on the way home, our old friend Garrett climbed on top of our vehicle going 65 down the highway. This was obviously alcohol induced. Which we no longer take part in, might i add. If we do, it is never before a show. Period

Kevin (PSAB): What do you guys see in the future for the Face?

Jake (RF): We are already recording a new album, so the release of that, possible signing, tour of course, and the launch of more Face merchandise.

Kevin (PSAB): And finally, do you have any words for the future fans that are just now finding out about you guys?

Jake (RF): Stay strong and stay true. Because your dreams are only limited by what you do. We love every single one of you, whether you hate us, or love us, we appreciate everything you do.
