Interview with NightShade!

NightShade Promo

PSAB: Each album seems to mark a stepping stone of improvement. What is new with Predilections? By that I mean: will it take your sound on to a different direction? Are you experimenting or even trying to touch up anything?

Nightshade: It’s still NightShade, but for this LP we decided to be free and using all our influences! So we have orchestral parts, electronics, brutal riffs… Some people will say that our songs are too different from each others on this album but why would we make an entire album with only two riffs like some bands do?

That’s not our definition of making music, we really want people to be able to hear everything our mind are creating.

PSAB: Is there any story behind the cover art? What are you trying to convey with the art?

Nightshade: Yes, the tree are in the middle of nowhere, but green and beautiful. Which mean that even you don’t have at first the pieces to accomplish your goal, nothing is lost! If you fight for it it will happen!

And on the back, a part of the tree are on fire, which mean that the road are never easy, and it’s easy to give up! But nothing are a fatality, everyone have bad days, just let them where they are and keep going forward.

PSAB: Where is your favorite city to play live (at least so far)? Why?

Nightshade: Tokyo! It’s for me the best city in the world! People over there are amazing, the food delicious, you can find a tons of great video games and people at shows are always crazy!

PSAB: What are your favorite bands that you have played live with?

Nightshade: I would say The Black Dahlia Murder and After The Burial. They’re both incredible on stage and great guys! You can’t go to one of their show and leaving being unhappy!

PSAB: I see a bunch of members of bands in all genres of metal that don’t listen to metal much in their free time. What do you like listening to? Has playing in a band for the last couple years changed or influenced what you currently listen to in your free time?

Nightshade: I’m listening a lot of orchestral music such as Hans Zimmer, Craig Armstrong, Harry Gregson-Williams… Rap like Lil Wayne, A$AP ROCKY, Nicky Minaj… and Electro such as Borgore, Aerochord, Zomboy…

PSAB: What is the most common question you get asked in interviews?
