Interview with Kombur!

Genre(s): Deathcore
PSAB: Where does the band name “Kombur” come from exactly? Does it stand for something?

KB: Kombur has no particular signification. We thought that having a short name with some aggressive letters was a good point, because it’s easy to find us on the web and because it’s a personal thing, not a name used by other bands or something like that. It was really important for us to have our print.

PSAB: You recently released Catharsis, your EP, in 2013. How was the feedback for that? Positive? Negative?

KB: Pretty positive! We were really happy to release it, because we worked a lot on it and it was really important for us to release something different, more professional than other bands releasing their debut EP. So the fans and the ‘Deathcore Sphere’ gave us a lot of compliments, we got really good feedback on our European Tour and more and more people are following us on the web and sharing our stuff. So we are happy and we hope that it’ll be never stop!

PSAB: How is the local metal scene in Avigon, South France?

KB: It’s a little bit difficult in Avignon because we aren’t like a lot of bands. We decided to do something different and the fact of touring on other countries isn’t a normal thing here. But in South France, in general, there’s an underground scene with some freaky bands as Right To The Void, Dead Side, Weaksaw… so we can play together, help ourselves, and have some fun when we are sharing a gig!

PSAB: You are signed to Send The Wood Music. How has the experience been while being signed to them?

KB: Things are good with them. We were friends before signing with them, so our relations are funny! They know their work and they give us good advice in everything. We can’t ask for a better label.

PSAB: You will be releasing a full length, eventually. Do you have a estimation when we will get a release date? In 2014?

KB: We are working on it! It’s sure that we can’t release it on 2014, because we have a lot of gigs and a lot of other stuff to prepare. Maybe we’ll release one or two songs from the album in 2014 but not more… You must waiting 2015 for the complete one.

PSAB: Do you have any shout outs to give to your fans and the readers out there?

KB: Just want to say ‘Thanks’ to everyone who supports us, our friends, our fans, our partners… Join us on Facebook, share our stuff, 2014 will be an incredible year for us and we have some freakin’ news to come! And a little word for US readers: expect us soon! Pending this, don’t hesitate to take a look at our FB page and to listen to our debut EP.
