Interview with Fortune Teller!

Facebook – Genre(s): Hardcore/Metal – Location: Cascais

PSAB: Why was the name “Fortune Teller” used for your band?

FT: There’s no special reason to why we chose that name to be honest, it just sounded cool and we were tired of thinking about band names so we just decided to go with it.PSAB: You recently released a music video for your song “I, The Silent.” How was the process filming the music video?

FT: Doing a music video was a first for everyone in the band so we were super stoked to do it. It all went down smoothly and it was just a great time overall.

PSAB: If you had the choice to have a musician featured on one of your tracks. Which musician would that be and why?

FT: That’s such hard question because the list is never ending, there are so many talented people that we would love to collaborate with but Sam Carter from architects, Ahren Stringer from The Amitty Affliction and Marcus Bridge from Northlane are definitely on the top of that list just because we are huge fans of their bands.

PSAB: How’s the metal scene in Cascais?

FT: Cascais is probably one of the least Metal places on earth. It is a small sunny town with lots of beaches and surfers and absolutely no music scene.  There are some cover bands who play the same venue every other week but nothing more than that, we are probably the only metal/hardcore band from there. With that being said if you go to Lisbon, which is very close to Cascais, you can find a growing music scene with a lot of talented bands and a decent number of venues to play.

PSAB: What bands play the most influence on your music?

FT: That list goes on and on too but Northlane, Parkway Drive, Architects, Being as an ocean, The Amitty Affliction and A Day To Remember are probably our biggest inspirations.

PSAB: Do you have any shout outs to give?

FT: Yeah, Shout out to Bernardo Neves for being the first person who believed in us; Shout out to Guilherme Baptista for making our EP possible and for being a proper lad;  Shout out to Manuel Casanova for being an amazing photographer and for making us look good and shout out to some portuguese bands like Dharma and Borderlands.
