Review: Unleash The Archers – Apex

27645

Canadian power-metallers Unleash The Archers will be releasing “Apex” on the 2nd of June, under their long-running label Napalm Records. They had first won me over with their second album Demons of The AstroWaste (2011) – I felt it was one of the few albums I enjoyed every single song on, so one can imagine how pleased I was to have the privilege to listen to their fourth installment.

Review: Infestation – Social Cannibalism

a1658264677_16

Infestation is a slamming brutal death metal band from Vilnius, Lithuania, having released their album “Social Cannibalism” in February this year. Of all the slam bands I have listened to, I have learned that a slamming brutal death album done right is a hypnotizing experience for the listener. It’s not about following a genre, or deciding which songs stand out the most, it is purely a question of whether the wave length of the whole album matches the listener, and if it does, it is very difficult to listen to one song without listening to the whole album. As a result, it is common for a listener to revisit an album from beginning to end twenty or thirty times in a year alone. The Social Cannibalism album does not just meet the demand, it raises the Slam bar.

Review: KING 810 – La Petite Mort or a Conversation with God

KING-810-LPM-Cover

In September 2016, Nu metal/beatdown rapcore band KING 810 (Flint, MI) released their second album under Roadrunner Records, La Petite Mort. The album stands out from their other releases because David Gun tries “speaking to the public like a friend”, referencing track 8, “I Ain’t Going Back Again”.

This album speaks more of David’s experiences in his life, from getting robbed and shot for for groceries, to playing the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, and everything in between. He reflects his time with his girl  track 5, “Black Swan”, and the wars and struggles in the streets in track 9, “War Time”, featuring Flint rapper Trick Trick.

I listen to music that I can get into and tells it how it is, and that is the reason I got into KING 810. If you like your metal with a taste of rap, then these guys are for you.

Review: Narthraal – Screaming From The Grave

Take a step back in time, to the turning point where thrash metal had slowly evolved into death metal, celebrating a tradition composed of a formidable blend of tasty guitar riffs and a punk beat to keep the heads banging. Icelandic four-piece Narthraal is an old-school death metal band, currently signed to Inverse Records. Having already released two Eps, they will be releasing “Screaming From The Grave” on the 26th of May.
